Episode Description According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, heart disease is responsible for 1 in every 4 deaths in the United States, making it the leading cause of death for both men and women. Obesity is associated with several diseases that can increase heart disease risk. In this episode, obesity medicine specialist and OMA clinical education executive director, Nicholas Pennings, DO, FOMA, Dipl. ABOM interviews Eduardo Sanchez, MD, MPH, FAAFP, the keynote speaker from Obesity Medicine 2019, about treating obesity as an important key to managing cardiometabolic health.
